President Barack Obama must have forgotten which party has been running New Orleans since well before Hurricane Katrina devastated the city 10 years ago.
Obama on Thursday praised the progress the “Big Easy” has made since Katrina, but noted that the disaster also “laid bare a deeper tragedy that had been brewing for decades.”
He said New Orleans suffered from “structural inequalities that left too many people, especially poor people, especially people of color, without good jobs or affordable healthcare or decent housing.”
Good call, Mr. President. You will find the same thing in just about any large city run by Democrats.
Twitter users made sure to remind Obama that Democrats have been governing New Orleans for decades, in case he’s wondering where to lay the blame.
