Caught on video: Out-of-control Segway hits the fastest man alive

The competition never got close to Jamaica’s Usain Bolt at the World Athletics Championships 200-meter final in Beijing on Thursday.

But an out-of-control Segway nearly did him in right after the race.

The accident gave a scare to fans of Bolt, who’ve watched the champion deal with hamstring issues for the past two years, but he said he’s fine. He even joked about trying to blame a rival runner, American Justin Gatlin.

“It didn’t actually hit me in my Achilles, it hit me in my calf area,” Bolt said, according to the Guardian. “It’s all right, I will get over it. Never a doubt, never a doubt. I am just going to get it massaged, ice it up a bit and I should be fine.

“The rumor I’m trying to start right now is that Justin Gatlin paid him off.”
