This is not the type of topless performance most people go to see in New York City.
Grace Jones, 67, who rose to fame in the 1980s with music hits like “Pull Up To The Bumper” and some acting gigs like her appearance in “Conan The Destroyer,” headlined Brooklyn’s Afropunk Festival Friday night wearing little more than body paint.
With classic femininity clearly not at the forefront of her mind, she sported unshaven arm pits, a flesh-toned one-piece and a chainmail headpiece as she hula-hooped topless for the New York crowd.
She even posted to Facebook before the event with an ultimatum to the festival’s fans.
“I’m coming for you Brooklyn, this Friday at the AFROPUNK Fancy Dress Ball,” she wrote. “You better dress to impress me.”
If only she followed her own decree.
