FIRED UP Palin responds like a poked bear after ‘too little, too late’ apology from Red State editor

palin-ericksonTalk about a mama grizzly, Sarah Palin responded to an apology from conservative blogger Erick Erickson regarding sins long past and the former governor of Alaska didn’t hold back.

Erickson’s mea culpa came in response to Palin’s daughter, Bristol, taking the Red State editor-in-chief to task for dis-inviting Republican presidential contender Donald Trump to an event last week. Bristol drew attention to what she saw as sexist behavior from Erickson, referencing a 2013 blog post on Red State that featured an unflattering photo-shopped image of her mother.

“I wish I had known from the Palin camp before now that this was a lingering issue,” Erickson said of the article. “I’ve tried to always defend the Palin family as they have been subject to so much unfair abuse.”

He noted that on the day the photo was posted, he had taken his wife to the hospital, which delayed any response on his part.

“I am sorry the Palin family has held on to this for so long,” Erickson wrote. “I certainly meant no offense and tried to respond as quickly as I could to it, but was limited at the time due to my own family circumstances.”

But while he proceeded with hat in hand, noted Red State contributor, Leon Wolf, responded to Bristol’s remarks by questioning the mother-to-be’s “class.”

And Mama Grizzly wasn’t having it.

“Today a friend forwarded your apology for mocking my family – again – and in answer to your point, yes, I do remember people taking repeated potshots at my family, friends, and supporters,” Palin wrote early Saturday on her Facebook page.

Palin pointed out that those who tried to inform Redstate that the photo was fake were “dismissed and mocked repeatedly,” and reminded Erickson of his “public comparison of me to L. Ron Hubbard (and not in a way that would make Tom Cruise proud).”

“Apparently you’ve forgotten your other indiscretions, including elevating your staffer, Mr. Wolf, who has been trashing my daughter and entire family on Twitter for days now,” she wrote.  “Adult males like y’all are just delightful to work with in that GOP machine.”

That’s going to leave a mark.

Palin described Wolf as Erickson’s “go-to-guy when you want to diss me or my family,” and suggested it’s “almost silly” to take his apology seriously — she accepted it anyway.

She then turned her attention to the 2016 presidential election.

“And since we’re clearing the air here, you need to make peace with Mr. Trump and Dr. Carson, whom you also delight in besmirching,” Palin said. “They are obviously very sharp, successful, courageous men who certainly did not draw first blood in the battles you picked with them.

“And just so you know going forward, a mama grizzly is always going to defend her cubs – especially from a Wolf.”
