Comedian mocks celebrity photos of the rich and privileged with her own version

An Australian comedian is using Instagram as a perfect social media platform to mock celebrity photos.

Celeste Barber, who can be found at, has been posting pictures imitating those of celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner and Miranda Kerr, with the hashtag #celestechallengeaccepted.

“People take it all too seriously, they have such an obsession with celebrities, the rich, the privileged and all these life-style bloggers, but yet the celebrities think they are doing normal things. Kim Kardashian posing in a pile of dirt — who does that in real life?” she told Daily Mail Australia.

“Really I am turning the mirror back on the celebrities, as I am very pro-woman and I get frustrated when people say you should be or act a certain way,” Barber continued.

The comedian said it started as something for her friends to laugh at, but now she says she is being sent photos daily and asked to re-create them.

“People are really supporting it,” she told the Mail. “I didn’t really care for how it would be perceived, I just started it for my friends who I knew would love it. I continued it because people are telling me it is their daily laugh and they have started to challenge me.

“My sister and I just go online and look at stupid photos, we say challenge accepted, and try to re-create it.”

Barber said certain celebrities are requested more than others.

“Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner are the top two people we hit up first, followed by Miranda Kerr and Giselle,” she said. “The Kardashians are always really out there and ridiculous — I just love it.”
