Fun cops captured doing funky ‘Whip/Nae, Nae’ dance with community kids on National Night Out

A video going viral online shows Minnesota cops getting down with some kids on National Night Out.

The officers were showcased on video doing the “Whip/Nae Nae” with the youngsters in Hopkins during the event designed to build better relationships with police and the community, KTSP reported.

They were following along to the choreography for American rapper Silentó’s summer hit called “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae).”

“At first we tried hula-hooping. We quickly discovered we can’t do that with our duty belt. Then the Nae Nae song came on and we decided to try our hand at that,” Sgt. Mike Johnson said.

Johnson said they want everyone, especially kids, to see them as approachable and someone to talk to.

“We have a great relationship with our community, these are daily things for us,” Sgt. Mike Glassberg said.
