A Wisconsin bus driver’s quick-thinking — and quick action — might have saved the life of a confused toddler.
Tim Homann was driving his Metro Transit bus in Madison on Thursday when he saw a 1 ½ year old girl standing alone in the street.
Homann stopped the bus and ran to the toddler, WISC-TV reported.
“I knelt down, and I put my arms out, and she put her arms up and said, ‘Momma,’” Homann told WISC-TV.
The girl’s dad arrived shortly thereafter and told Homann that he had fallen asleep.
The bus driver returned the child to her father and got back on the bus to continue his route.
“I apologized for the wait,” Homann recalled to WISC-TV of the announcement he made to the passengers. “I don’t know why, but I did.”
