Fox News gets BIGGEST last laugh in war with Jon Stewart on his parting night

Jon Stewart spent the better part of 16 years attacking Fox News on The Daily Show, but the cable news station got the last laugh.

The Republican presidential candidates’ debate on Fox News took place on the same night as the final episode of the Stewart-hosted Comedy Central staple on Thursday, and the results had to be embarrassing for the comedian and the comedy network.

The Daily Show scored 3.5 million viewers, its second-highest total ever, according to Deadline.com.

Sounds like a good night for the liberal comedian until you realize the GOP debate on Fox News scored a gargantuan 24 million viewers, making it the most-watched cable news program ever, according to Ad Week.

Many people in the Twittersphere took great joy in rubbing Stewart’s nose in it.
