Video: Here’s what made Trump so mad at Megyn Kelly

kelly-trumpFox News host Megyn Kelly went after Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in a big way at the first Republican debate, zeroing in on purportedly misogynistic statements he’d made in the past.

“Mr. Trump, one of the things people love about you is you speak your mind and you don’t use a politician’s filter,” Kelly said. “However, that is not without its downsides, in particular when it comes to women. You’ve called women you don’t like fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals.”

“Only Rosie O’Donnell,” Trump joked, which earned him laughter from the audience. But Kelly continued to press.

“No, it wasn’t,” she said. “Does that sound like the temperament of a man we should elect as president?” She referenced a possible showdown with Hillary Clinton if he becomes the eventual GOP nominee, and said Clinton would use his remarks as a “war on women” argument against him.

Trump replied that there was entirely too much obsession with “political correctness,” and this was just another example of it.

“I think the big problem this country has is being politically correct,” he said, and eventually focused on Kelly personally.

“Frankly, what I say — and oftentimes it’s fun, kidding, we have a good time — what I say is what I say,” Trump said. “And honestly, Megyn, if you don’t like it, I’m sorry. I’ve been very nice to you, although I could probably not be based on the way you have treated me. But I wouldn’t do that.”
