Sen. Ted Cruz revved up debate audience with ‘death warrant’ promise

Sen. Ted Cruz had a shining moment during Thursday’s Republican presidential debate when he blasted the idea that the Islamic State could not be defeated militarily.

He called the idea that Muslim radicalization could be stopped by getting the radicals out of poverty “nonsense.”

“What we need is a commander in chief that makes clear, if you join ISIS, if you wage jihad on America, then you are signing your death warrant,” he said to raucous applause.
