Presidential contender Donald Trump went on the offensive Wednesday over a female attorney’s story that accused him of losing his head when she wanted a break to breast pump during a deposition.
And the billionaire was brusque:
“She made it up,” he told CNN’s Dana Bash.
During the interview, Trump called attorney Elizabeth Beck a “vicious, horrible person” who was making up the story about the deposition to get back at him for winning the lawsuit they were engaged in.
Contrary to the story Beck told that appeared Tuesday on the front page of The New York Times, that Trump had gotten angry when she requested a break to breast pump, Trump said Beck was actually going to pump her breast in the presence of everyone in the room where the deposition was taking place.
Beck repeated the story in an interview on CNN’s “New Day” on Wednesday.
“He got up, his face got red, he shook his finger at me and he screamed, ‘You’re disgusting, you’re disgusting,’ and he ran out of there,” Beck told host Alisyn Camerota.
“I watched that and I thought that was disgraceful,” Trump told Bash. “She’s a terrible attorney. We beat her soundly. She’s got a terrible reputation. Bottom line I beat her — and — it was a breast pump. She wanted to breast pump in front of me. I may have said it was disgusting. I thought it was terrible …
“She made it up. She made it up,” he said. “She’s saying, ‘Oh, he was so violent and he was so, so wild and she was afraid.’ She was afraid of nobody. She’s a tough killer in Miami everyone knows she’s a killer. They all hate her.”
The attorney Trump used on that particular case, Allen Garten, backed him up, according to CNN.
“She was disgusting,” Garten said in a phone interview with CNN. “She was attempting to breast feed — to pump in the middle of a deposition, in a deposition room with five lawyers and was not excusing herself.”
Garten said Beck started to assemble the pump in the deposition room and “started to move the breast pump toward her breast.”
Trump implied that part of Beck’s story was possibly an attempt at name-dropping.
“So many people are on television that don’t know me and they’re like experts on me,” Trump said. “You know when Michael Jackson died — I knew him very well — and everybody was talking about Michael Jackson. They didn’t know him, they knew nothing. Some of them never even met him.”
He concluded, “She made it up.”
