Jon Stewart coached by Obama; summoned to White House for secret visits

Surprise surprise.

“The Daily Show’s” Jon Stewart — who spent years on his late-night show pretending to be a non-partisan comedian who made fun of political foibles on both sides of the aisle — turns out to be an unabashed Obama cheerleader who has been personally summoned to the White House by the president himself to be coached on how to push his talking points, according a Politico report.

To anyone with half a brain and reasoning skills who has watched Stewart’s show, this will come as no shock at all. But young people who sadly get their news from entertainment shows like “The Daily Show” might be stunned to learn they’ve been had.

According to Politico, staff of the show routinely called the White House and aides — including top Obama adviser David Axelrod — made sure to take the calls.

As one would imagine, this adds to the sense of despair Democrats have at Stewart’s departure from his propaganda mechanism.

And that includes the president who demanded the court jester personally meet with him on two sensitive occasions when Obama needed a spin master, according to Politico.

Jon Stewart slipped unnoticed into the White House in the midst of the October 2011 budget fight, summoned to an Oval Office coffee with President Barack Obama that he jokingly told his escort felt like being called into the principal’s office.

In February 2014, Obama again requested Stewart make the trip from Manhattan to the White House, this time for a midmorning visit hours before the president would go before television cameras to warn Russia that “there will be costs” if it made any further military intervention in Ukraine.

But Obama is not the only liberal sad to see Stewart go. The hack who debased his profession by shamelessly sucking up to the politically powerful while attacking Fox News, the only network consistently courageous enough to take on the White House, was invaluable to the progressive agenda.

“At a time when many traditional news outlets shied away from clearly reporting the urgency of the climate crisis, Jon consistently cut through the absurdity of climate denial night after night,” former Vice President Gore wrote in an email to Politico.

“I’ll tell you, some Democrats are worried,” Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., told Politico. “He’s done a great thing for us reminding young people why the Republican Party is out of step.”

Yes, for the Democrat Party it’s tough to see its front man go.

Watch this classic clip of partisan hack Stewart telling 9/11 first responders that Republicans don’t care about them.

The Twitterverse was not at all surprised by the revelation.
