Concealed carry holder stops double-fisted shooter after wild shootout threatens baby

A wild shootout that threatened the life of a 1-year-old ended with the bad guy in the hospital and another victory for a good guy with a gun.

Thomas McCary, 62, was arguing with a woman about 8 p.m. Sunday in Cincinnati when her brother, Patrick Ewing, came outside to see what the ruckus was all about, Fox 19 reported.

That’s when McCary pulled out a .38 caliber and opened fire on Ewing, who wasn’t hit.

Ewing, a concealed carry permit holder, responded with a gun of his own and fired three shots at McCary, including one that hit him in the leg. McCary retreated into his house.

McCary was wounded, but he wasn’t done.

He came back outside, this time with a gun in each hand, and fired at the woman, who had her toddler son with her, according to Fox 19.

Ewing again returned fire to defend his family.

When all was said and done McCary was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment of his bullet wound.

He was arrested and booked by 3:30 a.m. Monday.
