Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly came to the defense of Donald Trump on Tuesday’s program, saying the American media “despises” the fearless business magnate and GOP presidential contender.
“He has no fear,” O’Reilly explained. “He could not care less about censoring himself, and the press does not intimidate him.”
The top-rated host said the media is out to “destroy” Trump for not recognizing their power.
“So because of that approach the media believe they must punish Trump for being disrespectful and not cowering before them,” he added. “Plus, they don’t like his politics, generally speaking. And, if the press deems someone unworthy they will try to destroy that person. That’s where Donald Trump finds himself today.”
Trump appeared on the program Monday, with O’Reilly calling him to task for his controversial remarks about U.S. Sen. John McCain.
O’Reilly warned viewers that while there are a few exceptions, overall the “corrupt” media has an agenda and is not looking out for the folks.
