The liberal magazine Salon is so desperate to trash Donald Trump that it will spin almost any Trump news to try to make him look bad.
In a recent article, Salon writer Colin Gorenstein went out of his way to portray magician Penn Jillette‘s recent praise of Trump during a radio interview as an indictment of the presidential candidate’s character.
The headline says it all: “Penn Jillette Makes Donald Trump Look Like Even More of a Petty Goon — by Showering Him with Praise.”
Much as in the radio interview itself, objectivity apparently was not a major concern.
When Trump recently slammed Jillette’s new Broadway show, the liberals at Salon and at Greg “Opie” Hugh’s radio show were more than ready to watch the libertarian performer tear apart the Republican presidential hopeful.
Instead, Jillette showed his manners.
@realDonaldTrump Sorry you couldn’t make the opening, but we know you’re busy. Would have liked to have seen you. Be well.

“He can be unlikable, but I am really very fond of him. And still, with what you read, it kind of makes me like him more!” Jillette told Hughes on Thursday.
But Jillette’s kind words didn’t slow down the left-wing smear machine at Salon. They went right to work on spinning the story to their advantage.
According to Salon, Jillette’s gracious attitude somehow proves Trump is a “goon” who is focused on petty drama.
While Jillette did, in fact, say Trump has a tendency to get hung up on little issues, he still had high praise for the GOP contender – despite not supporting him for the presidential nomination.
“Thelonius Monk, the great jazz piano player, said — and it’s not a well-known quotation, but I love it — he said, ‘The genius is the one who is most like himself.’ That’s what I love with Bob Dylan, Lenny Bruce, Tiny Tim — they were completely like themselves. Trump, for better or worse, is in that category,” he said.
While Salon was bogged down on the minor issue of Trump’s criticism of Jillette’s show, the magician and performer pointed out that Trump has an authenticity most other people don’t have.
“I have talked one-on-one with Bob Dylan, and I have talked one-on-one with Trump, and they do not have filters. They speak honestly and from the heart,” he said.
Judging by the praise Jillette gave Trump, it seems it’s the liberals at Salon who are proving to be “petty goons.”
