President Obama beats nuns.
While it’s an eye-catching headline, that’s just what occurred Tuesday when the 10th Circuit United States Court of Appeals ruled against the Little Sisters of the Poor in a decision that forces the nuns to violate their faith or pay massive IRS penalties.
The court victory means the nuns must comply with a provision of Obamacare — that compels religious groups to pay for birth control and drugs that may cause abortions.
The reaction on social media to yet another win for the president was quick, and included references to this week’s nuclear deal with Iran, but Timothy Carney, senior political columnist for the Washington Examiner, may have summed it up best.
Here is his tweet and a sampling of other responses:
Obama is 1-1 today. Lost to Iran. Beat Little Sisters of the Poor.

@baseballcrank Let’s heap praise upon the one who finally saved us from the tyrannical Little Sisters of the Poor.

@dbongino I don’t know how they live with themselves… I am still trying to figure out how we live with them ?

Leave the Little Sisters of the Poor alone. Come on, man. What’s wrong with people?

@JedediahBila the good will always be under attack by the evil. Recently we are actually seeing evil showing itself unmasked…
