Mother of murder victim at hands of illegal alien slams Trump critics: ‘When will the public wake up?’

Donald Trump’s bold stance against illegal immigration after a random killing by an illegal in San Francisco has won him strong support from a mother who lost her own child under similar circumstances.

Anita Shaw’s 17-year-old son was murdered by an illegal immigrant in Los Angeles in 2008, and she told the Daily Mail Online that she couldn’t help but think about the broken immigration system when she heard about an illegal alien killing 32-year-old Kathryn Steinle last week.

“When I heard about the girl in San Francisco, I said, ‘oh no, not again’,” she said.

Shaw said she’s “angry” over the way “sanctuary cities” give safe haven to dangerous criminal immigrants.

“It’s like, when will the public wake up and do something?” she said. “And this guy who is running for president, Donald Trump, he’s trying to do something and they’re trying to shut him down.”

Trump drew national criticism in June when his speech announcing his presidential campaign slammed illegal immigrants as “bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.”

After the Steinle killing, he repeated the charge.

“What can be simpler or more accurately stated? The Mexican Government is forcing their most unwanted people into the United States,” he wrote in a statement released Monday. “They are, in many cases, criminals, drug dealers, rapists.”

Anita Shaw has been a vocal opponent of illegal immigration since her son was killed by an illegal in 2008.
Anita Shaw says Donald Trump is the only candidate speaking the truth about illegal immigration.

Shaw said the circumstances surrounding Steinle’s death are similar to those surrounding the death of her own son. Both victims were killed by illegal immigrants who – had local authorities properly reported to immigration officers – should have been deported.

“I still don’t understand why it happened… why wasn’t this guy deported after he was released from prison?” she said. “‘Sanctuary city.’ That’s crazy.”

Trump’s outspoken rhetoric has convinced Shaw that he’s the only one taking the issue of “sanctuary cities” seriously.

“I believe in what he’s saying. He’s trying to fix the borders and do all the things people should have done a long time ago,” she told the Daily Mail. “It’s amazing to me that the same incident is still going on today.”
