Someone’s going to get shot doing this.
With national hysteria over the Confederate flag reaching new heights daily, a black-oriented website called The Grio has posted a video of a young black man pulling a flag from the back of a semi on a slow-moving highway.
The Grio didn’t originate the video (it came from Tumblr, captioned “F*** THAT FLAG”) and its coverage opens with a cautionary “It doesn’t sound like a safe thing to do …”
But the tone is clearly approving, noting that “the video is set to James Brown’s funk classic ‘The Payback.'” The article ends with “It’s getting real out here.”
The liberal website deathandtaxes.com went even further with the headline, “Hero rushes through traffic to rip confederate flag off truck.”
It’s getting something when young men feel justified in putting their lives in danger to commit the crime of vandalism for a camera.
It’s getting something when an alleged news site feels justified in posting video of that crime for its viewers – with the goal and likely result of encouraging more of the same. But vandalizing a truck isn’t a sit-in in Greensboro, and criminal behavior isn’t civil disobedience, no matter what the Al Sharptons of the world say.
And when someone does get shot doing this – attacking private property in public to make a spurious point – websites like The Grio and their like-minded brethren on television and in print are going to blame everyone but themselves.
It’s getting something, all right.
It’s getting dangerous.
Social media users agree — at least the ones who aren’t praising this numbskull.
@DRUDGE_REPORT someday, some liberal is going to end up hurt very badly for attempting this type of nonsense. The media will be to blame…

@DRUDGE_REPORT I wish he had been spotted by the driver and beaten with a tire iron.

@DRUDGE_REPORT What the Hell is wrong with people? ! What gives someone the right to touch someone else’s property?

It’s how people get shot.
