‘How much would you pay to stop an abortion?’ Woman will abort within 72 hours if pro-lifers don’t send $1 million

A purportedly pregnant woman has put a price on her unborn child’s head: if she isn’t paid a $1 million ransom, she will have an abortion.

The anonymous extortionist wrote an essay titled “How much would you pay to stop an abortion?” that challenged pro-lifers to pony up the ransom in 72 hours or she would have an abortion.

She wrote the demand for cash on a one-page website http://www.prolifeantiwoman.com, saying she is doing so to “give the American public a concrete example that the conservative right in America doesn’t actually care about the life of a child, they care about controlling the lives and choices of women.”

The woman says the state she lives in has “restrictive abortion laws that impose unnecessary waiting time [72 hours] to get an abortion and attempt to enforce rules that bypass the doctor-patient privacy privilege.”

She is using those 72 hours, from July 7 to July 10, to raise the $1 million, which she said “will be put in a trust fund for the child, which he or she will have access to when they turn 21.”

The woman wrote that she blames the “religious right,” which she says “cares very little about saving lives and far more about controlling women.”

If she is successful is raising the money, the baby will be put up for adoption, and if she is unsuccessful, she will proceed with the abortion and all of the money collected will be returned, she said.
