Video: Girl bursts into tears after Hillary touches her

It’s unfortunately not a parody. Someone in the Clinton campaign actually thought this was an effective advertisement.

A new official campaign commercial for Hillary Clinton features a young fan who bursts into tears of joy after the Democrat presidential hopeful casually touches her on the hand during a campaign stop.

The campaign ad, titled, “A Pledge,” not only shows the disturbingly cult-like moment, but actually highlights it.

The girl featured in the ad says she has cystic fibrosis, and tells the camera that Hillary’s “touching” moment inspired her to the point of tears.

“When she reached out it was a really personal connection like, ‘I am here, I hear what you’re saying to me and I will do my best.’”

Unlike some of Barack Obama’s early speeches, no one seemed to faint on this video.

Given the pop-culture phenomenon that catapulted Obama to the top of the ticket in 2008, the Clinton campaign might be trying to portray a similar sense of fanaticism surrounding the candidate. What they have done instead is make a young Clinton fan look like a teenage girl at a Justin Bieber concert.

Obama might have been able to give Chris Matthews a “thrill” up his leg, but Hillary Clinton can apparently bring blindingly hopeful liberals to tears with a little eye contact and hand holding.
