Former Sen. Fred Thompson on Monday took a biting, bull’s eye shot back at President Obama for his statement last week at a Ramadan dinner that some Americans have a “distorted impression” of Muslims.
“Here in America, many people personally don’t know someone who is Muslim. They mostly hear about Muslims in the news,” Obama said. “And that can obviously lead to a very distorted impression.”
Thompson, the Tennessee Republican, thought of something else that could lead to a distorted impression.
“Obama at Ramadan dinner laments “distorted impression” US has of Muslims. Right. YOU’RE the one who said they riot over YouTube videos,” he fired back on Twitter Monday.
