C.J. Pearson, the 12-year-old black conservative activist, is at it again. This time he’s challenging President Obama to a sit-down.
“I want to talk to you about your vision for this nation. I want to talk about the vision you hold for my generation. I also want to talk about my vision for my generation with you,” Pearson told the president.
Mocking Obama’s 2008 campaign slogan, he said on YouTube, “Like you, Mr. President, I want to give my generation some change that they can believe in.”
“We’re ready to rise up. We’re ready to fight for our generation,” he said. “We’re ready to do whatever it takes to save this nation.”
Pearson told BizPac Review that he “would love to discuss with President Obama my vision for America and the many struggles my generation are facing at this time.”
He said that despite the fact that the majority of African-Americans and young people lean left, he found his own path to the conservative side.
“I found out that the values of limited government, personal responsibility, and equal opportunity for all Americans were values that I could get behind,” he told BPR. “Regardless of my age and regardless of my race, my deep love for liberty attracted me to the Republican Party. “
Pearson also said he wants to serve in public office himself someday.
“I look forward to the opportunity of serving my community in public office and fighting for their beliefs and values in Washington,” he said.
No doubt he’s well on his way, with a knowledge base of politics and current events that far exceeds his age.
BPR wondered: What does someone his age with ambitions of holding public office who wants to go toe-to-toe with the leader of the free world watch on TV in his spare time?
Would it be wall-to-wall political programming or non-stop news shows?
None of the above.
“I am a huge fan of ‘House of Cards.’ ‘Big Bang Theory’ is really good, too! No CSPAN for me, surprisingly,” he said with a laugh.
If Obama does decide to meet with Pearson, let’s hope they televise it. It would be fun to see the president get out-debated by a 12-year-old.
