An Arkansas woman is facing a raft of charges after she pulled off an escape act that would have made Houdini proud.
Following a domestic dispute, Jessica Sterling, 23, led police on a high speed chase that ended when she crashed her car into a fence, WFXG reported.
That’s when things got interesting.
According to officers, Sterling began banging her head against the window of the police cruiser she was placed in, prompting one officer to open the door to investigate.
And Sterling head-butted him.
Officers then put Sterling in handcuffs, leg shackles and a hobble and put her back in the Chevy Tahoe while they began to search her vehicle, according to WFXG.
Somehow, the shackled Sterling managed to crawl through an opening into the front seat of the Tahoe and steal it starting another four-mile chase that ended when she flipped the vehicle.
She then tried to use the rifle locked inside the police cruiser and shouted at police to shoot her.
They Tasered her instead.
Sterling now faces 15 charges, including property theft, DWI, and two counts of reckless driving.
According to WFXG, she caused approximately $66,000 in damages.
When she does eventually get out of prison, she ought to look into getting a stage act as an escape artist.
