Cool invention you can really get behind! Samsung to rule the road

Talk about rolling out a new idea.

Any drivers who’ve ever been stuck behind a tractor trailer wondering if it was safe to go around without hitting oncoming traffic could be thanking a new invention from Samsung for helping them pass in safety.

The company is introducing a line of “Safety Trucks” equipped with wireless cameras and large display screens on their backs that will combine to show drivers following large trucks what’s going on on the road ahead.

According to the Daily Mail:

The safety vehicles will have wireless cameras attached to their fronts to capture the road ahead.

The images from the cameras will broadcast to a video wall made of four video monitors located on the back of the truck.

Those monitors will “give drivers behind the truck a view of what is going on ahead, even in the dark of night,” according to the company.

The devices are being test-marketed in Argentina, where highway accidents claim an average of one life an hour, according to the Daily Mail.
