KSNT reporter Katya Leick was reporting atop a military tank but didn’t expect to be under attack herself.
But that’s exactly what happened when a swarm of pesky cicadas began surrounding her during her report.
Leick was working on a story in Fort Riley, Kansas, when the insects, which hadn’t been seen in the area for 17 years, began their assault. Cicadas always appear in 17-year cycles.
While the critters are a nuisance, experts say they aren’t harmful to people, KSNT reported.
Unless, of course, you’re a reporter trying to do a broadcast.
