Rob Lowe pushes PC-bashing Seinfeld for president, and social media cheers!

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld touched a national nerve with a recent remark about staying away from college campuses due to political correctness — and he continues to stress how it’s hurting comedy.

And while liberals are not thrilled with that stance, actor Rob Lowe loves it.

In fact, in a quest to bring an end to “PC Tyranny,” Lowe thinks Seinfeld should run for president, as seen here on Twitter:

“I don’t play colleges, but I hear a lot of people tell me, ‘Don’t go near colleges, they’re so PC,’” Seinfeld said in a radio interview last week. He went on to say young people use words like “racist” and “sexist,” but they “don’t even know what they’re talking about.”

After the past six and a half years, some social media users actually like the idea of Seinfeld being president — particularly if Lowe agrees to run on the same ticket.

While Lowe may have bit off more than he can chew, he did a sterling job portraying President John F. Kennedy in the TV movie “Killing Kennedy,” based on the book by Bill O’Reilly.

Here’s a sampling of responses to his tweet from Twitter:
