A former Obama adviser and current CNN contributor claimed Saturday that President Obama is the first president to have won the Triple Crown of horse racing since Jimmy Carter.
Claiming credit where literally none is due is the flipside of the Obama trademark of evading responsibility, but former Obama senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer took it to a new low Saturday with this comment on the Belmont Stakes victory by a horse called American Pharaoh (a suitable epigram for the Obama administration):
Another accomplishment — Obama first President to have a Triple Crown winner since Carter

The response was swift, sarcastic — and scornful.

@danpfeiffer does the horse get to go to the White House?

@danpfeiffer Will Obama eat the horse like he ate the dog?
— Marooned in Marin (@MaroonedInMarin) June 6, 2015
Jimmy Carter and Obama are both lucky to Iran, people who hate working, and horses. @danpfeiffer

This one brings to mind Obama’s “You didn’t build that” statement.
You didn’t race that?

And my favorite came from a New York-based liberal journalist:
@danpfeiffer And horse named after him to boot!* * by right wing
