They’re shooting at Border Patrol helicopters! Chopper forced to make emergency landing after taking bullets

A U.S. Border Patrol helicopter had to make an emergency landing Friday after it was hit with gunfire.

Entire police dept. disbanded after councilwoman and her son were arrested.

The incident happened as the chopper was patrolling in the Rio Grande area, near Laredo, Texas, according to The Associated Press, which reported:

Webb County Sheriff Martin Cuellar (KWAY’-yahr) tells the Laredo Morning Times ( http://bit.ly/1Kg0ji2 ) that out of five shots believed to have been fired at the helicopter, two are confirmed to have hit their target.

Border Patrol spokeswoman Sara Melendez says no one aboard the aircraft was injured. The helicopter landed safely.

CNN wrote “Preliminary indications are that the gunfire came from the Mexican side of the border, Laredo Police said.”
