‘Tone deaf’ Hillary boots kids off playground . . . And your little dog Toto, too!

It doesn’t take a village – it takes a villain to kick out a children’s event.

And crimp a blood drive, too.

The already gaffe-prone Hillary Clinton campaign stepped in it again Wednesday when news got out that a children’s event planned for later this month in New York was going to have to be canceled because Hillary’s staffers planned a rally for the same place at the same time, according to the New York Post.

The much-ballyhooed Clinton rally – the “official launch” of her already 2-month-old campaign – is set for June 13 at Four Freedoms Park on Roosevelt Island in New York City’s East River.

While Clinton loyalists (and hangers on) have been trying to gin up excitement for what is essentially a do-over of the former secretary of state’s lukewarm “official” announcement of her campaign via video in April, the kids who were going to be enjoying an event called “Imagination Playground” at the park are left out in the cold.

And it’s not just the kids.

Hillary’s reset rally is going to be a real headache for “Roosevelt Island Day,” a community celebration of the island (which was called “Welfare Island” before being renamed in honor of Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1971, fittingly enough).

Furious organizers are lashing out at the “tone deaf” Clinton planners.

“I think the campaign should have reached out to the community representatives of 14,000 people — absolutely,” Matthew Katz, former president of the island’s community association, spouted to the Post.

“We are not just a memorial and a park. We’re a thriving community of 14,000 people. It’s just tone-deaf to ignore that,” he said.

A big part of Roosevelt Island Day is a blood drive, which along with kids’ rides, hot dog stands and other festival amenities.

Now, organizers who’ve been planning the annual event for months are afraid the Clinton rally is going to ruin everything with its crowds and security – former President Bill Clinton and his entourage will be on hand.

“We would hope this would not impact the kind of participation we have for what we’re doing,” Katz told the Post. “This seems to be for a political campaign sort of not particularly savvy in terms of the purpose of the thing — kind of tone-deaf actually.”

With the news hitting the mega-muckraking Drudge Report website, the reactions were scathing.

That’s one way of putting it.

Here’s another.
