Thunderstorms sweeping through Manhattan Sunday afternoon offered observers an amazing light show, and a few lucky photographers and videographers were able to capture lightning striking the newly completed World Trade Center and post the images to to social media.

This must be the season for lightning. Four days earlier, an amateur videographer caught this lightning strike on a church in Grand Isle, Maine.
All seems calm when unexpectedly the bolt strikes the church steeple. Wow!
