When an elderly woman got to her local bingo hall and took a seat favored by an equally elderly Florida man, he took matters into his own hands — and way over the top — by puncturing the woman’s tires.
Fred Smith, 82, was charged with criminal mischief after surveillance footage showed him taking an ice pick to the tires of a van belonging to 88-year-old Ethel Britts.
The victim was shocked.
“I didn’t think anyone would be low enough to do that to my car because I didn’t know I had any enemies in my life,” Britts told MyFoxTampaBay. “I thought everybody was my friend, but undoubtedly I have one enemy.”
The crime took place at the Lake Ashton Retirement Community Club House in Lake Wales. Smith admitted to causing the damage and will have to pay restitution.
But the unkindest cut of all? Smith is forever banned from the weekly bingo games at the retirement community.
