There was definitely nothing funny about seeing U2 guitarist The Edge go over the edge, but the jokes were inevitable after the musician fell off the stage during a concert Thursday night in Vancouver.
Fortunately, he was not seriously injured.
The Edge was in the middle of U2’s big hit from the 1980s, “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For,” when suddenly he couldn”t find the stage, stepping off into oblivion.
A concert-goer captured the scary incident on video, posting it on YouTube.
Another angle of the accident from YouTube:
The group was playing the final song of the set in the opening concert of the band’s 2015 “Innocence and Experience” tour when the mishap occurred, according to the Huffington Post.
Lead singer Bono, who just recovered from a serious bicycle accident that required major surgery on his arm, had his back to The Edge, whose real name is Dave Evans, and continued singing as his hapless bandmate tumbled out of view.
U2 posted a photo of The Edge’s bumps and bruises, along with a caption that shows his own sense of humor: “Didn’t see the edge, I’m ok!!
