Wounded war hero proposes to ‘stunned’ girlfriend on ‘Dancing with the Stars’

War hero and “Dancing With The Stars” contest Noah Galloway has a new dance to work on — his wedding dance.

Galloway delighted his fellow performers and fans by popping the question live on the air during Monday’s show.

His girlfriend Jamie Boyd, an Army Reserve specialist, emphatically said yes.

It happened after Boyd told Galloway she was proud of him following his dance.

Galloway said, “I’ve gotta do this here,” as he fell to one knee and asked, “Will you marry me?”

“I’m speechless and I’m never speechless,” Boyd said. “Baby, I love you so much.”

“Is that a yes?” host Erin Andrews asked the stunned Boyd.

“Oh heck yes” she replied.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

Cameras caught Demi Moore, whose daughter Rumer Willis is also a contestant on the show, and co-host Tom Bergeron crying.

After the show, Galloway told reporters, “From the day I met her, I knew this was going to be somebody that I was going to ask to marry me.”

He said that proposing on the show “felt right.”

“She surprised me [on] Week 2 by coming from basic training. So much of our relationship has been shared with all these new followers that I’ve gained from ‘Dancing with the Stars’ so it made perfect sense to me to share this with the audience of the show,” he said.

Boyd told reporters she was “stunned” by the proposal.

“Here’s the thing—he told me to go get a dress, they might ask you how you think I’ve done this season, give a little recap of how proud you are of me and I was, like, ‘I can do that, I’m ready!’” she said. “And so I’d gotten a dress, my nails done and everything and lo and behold, he pops the question. It was amazing, so special.”

One of the people besides Galloway who was not surprised was his dance partner Sharna Burgess, who held the ring for him.

“Sharna had the ring, was going to pass it to me,” he said. “I felt a nudge in my back from Sharna and I put my hand back, there was the ring. So it was everything was going step by step ‘til I was down on my knee.”

One of the show’s judges, Carrie Ann Inaba, was thrilled by the touching moment.

“That was a magical moment,” she said. “It just shows what kind of man he is. It was so nice he did it here on ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ with all of us.”
