‘Support the Police’ demonstrator brings baby stroller to Baltimore rally: Brave or irresponsible?

If the goal was to attract attention, it worked.

A Baltimore man drew considerable criticism when he showed up at a “Victory Rally” Saturday in front of City Hall carrying a “Support the Police” sign — while pushing a toddler in a stroller!

The event was held to celebrate six Baltimore police officers being charged in the death of Freddie Gray, announced Friday by Maryland State Attorney Marilyn Mosby. A decision that critics charge was spurred on by a rush to judgment mob mentality exhibited by protesters.

Rally goers appeared to be having a grand ol’ time until the man made his ill-advised appearance:

Ironically, the man was not the only person to show up with a child, although the circumstances were a little different in the eyes of those who argue that the rally was not necessarily a protest:

A weak argument based on some of the images posted on Twitter… by the way, the “FTP” spray painted on the upside down American flag stands for “F— the Police.”

Nevertheless, the criticism flowed fast and furious, as seen on Twitter:
