A Democrat Maryland state senator was caught on camera hugging a bottle-wielding rioter during the unrest in Baltimore on Tuesday after a protester’s angry confrontation with Fox News’ Geraldo Rivera.
“They don’t want trouble,” Maryland state Sen. Majority Leader Catherine Pugh told Rivera, continuing to beat the drum of the false narrative that the media is responsible for the rioting.
“We want our people to go home, but we also need the media to move back, because this is just inciting people,” she said.

Following that tense moment, Pugh walked over to one rabble-rouser and embraced him as he appeared to be on the verge of tears.
While some in the Twitterverse supported Pugh’s “compassion,” others called her out for siding with those who were destroying the city.

Fascinating on Fox News to have Catherine Pugh correctly identify TV cameras as a source of tension in Baltimore.
