Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton said Thursday that “religious beliefs” will have to change so women’s access to abortion can be expanded.
“Deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed” to give women access to “reproductive health care and safe childbirth,” Clinton said in a keynote address at the sixth annual Women in The World Summit in New York.
Folks on Twitter weren’t so sure, tweeting:
@thehill so now her murderous and hedonistic ideology is supposed to supersede thousands of years of prohibitions against infanticide?

@thehill yes, religious beliefs must be changed, liberal christians must read the bible and understand they embrace murdering children

@thehill To the contrary: Abortion has no rights; whereas deep-seated morality based upon Torah (Bible) requires allegiance to the Giver.

@thehill People have the right to practice their religious beliefs but they shouldn’t be able to impose them on others.

@thehill I wish Dems, especially Hillary “mini-war on women” herself would stop telling me what I have to believe.

.@thehill Yes, I think THAT should be the centerpiece of her campaign. It’ll play well in the heartland.

Clinton is bucking the tide on this one. Not only is the world becoming more religious, according to a Time magazine poll, but a CBS News poll shows the United States is becoming more pro-life.
