Wisconsin is becoming a nightmare for conservatives — especially those who openly support its Republican governor — Scott Walker.
What makes it worse is that those whose homes have been searched and personal property seized were told they’d be subject to arrest if they talked about it. But some brave souls are doing just that.
Fox News host Megyn Kelly told of one instance, where Walker supporter Cindy Archer was awakened from a dead sleep by more than a dozen police officers shouting and pounding at her door. They had a battering ram at the ready if she didn’t answer.
The police officers refused to state why they were ransacking her home and making off with her computers and phones — only that she couldn’t talk about it.
Walker supporters were “targeted based on a theory which is completely unsupportable under Wisconsin law,” Eric O’Keefe, a member of the conservative Wisconsin Club for Growth, told Kelly Thursday.
“The left was tired of losing election after election after election,” he said, and because of it, they were targeted for frightening midnight raids by Milwaukee County Prosecutor John Chisholm, a Democrat.
Retired police officer Michael Lutz confirmed that from conversations with Chisholm, the raids had nothing to do with fighting crime — they were all about politics.
“He [Chisholm] stated that it was his personal responsibility to stop Governor Walker and all Republicans from supporting Act 10 [Wisconsin’s Budget Repair Bill],” Lutz recalled, from a private conversation that took place in the prosecutor’s office.
It sounds like something out of Kafka. But this is America’s wholesome Midwest.
