Trump ‘not responsible’ for tweet: ‘If Hillary Clinton can’t satisfy her husband, what makes her think she can satisfy America?’

Real estate magnate Donald Trump’s Twitter account quoted an off-color political joke about Hillary Clinton to his 3 million followers Thursday night, suggesting that if the Democratic presidential candidate can’t satisfy her husband, she had little chance of satisfying America.

The tweet was deleted shortly after it was sent, but not before The Daily Caller captured it in a screen shot.

The tweet originally came from champion equestrian Sawyer Burmeister (@HeyySawyer), who apologized after getting called to the carpet for it. She called the tweet a “political joke” and not something meant to be taken seriously.

A Trump spokesman responded to a Daily Caller request for comment by saying:

“Mr. Trump was not responsible for this tweet. It was retweeted by one of ten staff members that periodically help execute on Mr. Trump’s various social media platforms. As soon as Mr. Trump saw the tweet he deleted it.”
