Mia Love, the first black Republican woman in Congress is proving she’s no wall flower – and let it be known exactly what she thought of Hillary Clinton’s announcement that she’ll be making a run for president.
While most political establishment, go-along-to-get-along types remain silent, the Utah congresswoman refreshingly broke “freshman political ranks” and voiced her awesome opinion via Facebook on Sunday about where she stands on the issue.
With well over 7,000 shares and nearly 30,000 likes, it’s abundantly clear that many Americans welcome her honest and straightforward approach.
Of course, there’s always exceptions.
“The more I read your posts, the more you continue to “come off” like the “average” problem-focused, bitter, angry black woman,” wrote one disapprover.
No doubt, battling stereotypes is not new to Love, but she seems more than capable of handling what comes her way. Which is a good thing, because who knows what the future brings?
“Someday Mia should serve as our president,” read one of many similar comments that garnered a lot of likes.
For now, it’s just great to see a political rising star who’s not afraid to buck the status quo.
