At least one doctor wants all medical students to be forced to learn how to perform an abortion, no matter what religious objections they may have.
MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry urged her guest, Dr. Anne Davis, an associate professor of clinical obstetrics and gynecology at Columbia University Medical Center, to explain why learning how to kill an unborn baby was a “core skill” and “why it’s important for physicians to know it.”
“Some people are unaware that about one in three women in the United States has an abortion during her reproductive years,” Davis said matter-of-factly, as if the procedure were no more important than getting a mole removed.

“Many of the skills you learn through providing abortion are skills that are generalized to other things we do in the profession,” she said. “So it’s something you need to know the fundamentals about to really understand it.”
What other things do you do in the medical profession that involve ending a life?
