New York Mayor Bill de Blasio did the unthinkable when he went against Democrat Party royalty by not endorsing Hillary Clinton’s presidential bid – and now he’s going to pay the price.
“Some of Hillary’s bundlers are like, ‘WTF?’” a source told the New York Post. “They’re furious.”
De Blasio’s public dismissal of Clinton is reported to be profoundly surprising to Democrat leaders because the NYC mayor has long been a benefactor of Clinton support and special favors. He also served as campaign manager during her successful 2000 Senate run.
Now that de Blasio is in the driver’s seat, things have changed.
According to the Post, top Democrat leaders are threatening to pull support for his re-election if de Blasio doesn’t get in line.
“It’s a moral imperative for people who are leaders of the progressive movement to support her,” Democrat National Committee member Rob Zimmerman told the Post.
De Blasio made an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday that didn’t quite measure up to Zimmerman’s demands.

Before endorsing anybody, de Blasio said, “I need to see any actual vision of where [candidates] want to go,” implying Clinton may not be progressive enough.
“… We need to see the substance,” added the man who’s been dubbed the “Marxist mayor.”
A Clinton source told the Post, “He’s known her for like, 20 years! He doesn’t know what her philosophy of government is?”
De Blasio was reportedly inundated with angry calls and texts Monday after the show aired.
The insider added, “The Clinton people are really angry. They’re furious.”
