Jake Tapper ‘stunned’ by dirt about Clinton’s White House revealed in new book

CNN anchor Jake Tapper had an odd reaction to revelations about intimate details within the White House for a reporter who routinely works with sources who talk when they probably shouldn’t.

He’s astonished.

When asked to respond Tuesday on CNN’s “The Lede” to a new book that said Hillary Clinton drew blood after throwing a book at President Bill Clinton during the Monica Lewinsky scandal, Tapper said he was “stunned” to see staffers sharing private details about the occupants at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

The story was chronicled in Kate Anderson Brower’s book, “The Residence: Inside the Private World of the White House.”

“You expect political operatives, as happened during the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and the Obama administration, to come forward with their own versions of events when it comes to the political world, but the idea that staffers in the White House residence would be talking about things that are really are supposed to be kept completely private is frankly shocking to me,” he said.

Tapper cautioned the “next occupant of the White House, if not the current ones, are going to take steps to make sure that there are as many legal protections as possible to make sure this doesn’t happen for any future books.”

Does he feel the same about future CNN broadcasts?
