Liberals launch revenge GoFundMe to counter conservatives’ pizza love; forgot one big thing . . .

Liberals are better at spending your money than their own.

Progressive groups trying to match the phenomenal success of a GoFundMe account established by conservatives in the Indiana gay-marriage controversy have been failing miserably. So far, they’ve only been able to rack up about 1/20th of the support the right gave to the owners of a small-town pizzeria.

When Memories Pizza was forced to close it doors by threats coming from militant gay rights activists, TheBlaze’s Dana Loesch, Billy Jones III and Ben Howe knew that something had to be done — so they set up a GoFundMe account to tide the owners and staff over until the pizzeria could reopen.

Conservatives answered the call in droves and the fundraising drive ended with the account at $842,952.

Liberals and the gay community decided that two can play at that game, and their competition against Memories Pizza couldn’t be more apparent. They call the fund “Pizza4Equality,” use a rainbow-colored pizza as a logo and state, “If $842K can be raised for a pizza joint, what can we raise for homeless kids?”

They got the word out via social media:

The proceeds go to pop star Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors” fund.

It’s been up since April 3 — three days — and has raised a tad over $43,000.

The Memories Pizza fund, on the other hand, raised about $50,000 in just the first 11 hours.

What could be the reason for Pizza4Equality’s lack of success? I believe a Twitter user using the handle “Colonel Neville” hit the nail squarely on the head:

And “Bastiat Fan” may have worked out the real reason for establishing Pizza4Equality in the first place:

Conclusion? Conservative are great at donating when the cause is just; liberals are great at using tax dollars to support their own pet programs, whether it’s abortion clinics, global warming, or green energy. But they’re loathe to dig into their own pockets.
