Jeb Bush registered to vote as a Hispanic; Twitter has some fun

According to a report, 2016 Republican presidential contender Jeb Bush registered to vote as a Hispanic in 2009.

The report by the New York Times Monday revealed that the former Florida governor checked off Hispanic in the “race/ethnicity” field on his voter registration application.

The deputy supervisor of elections for Miami-Dade, Carolina Lopez, told The Times that voters have to hand in a hard copy of the application complete with signature before they receive their voter identification card.

According to the Times, a Bush spokesman who could not explain the reason for the misidentification.

The former Florida governor is not Hispanic, by the way. His wife, Columba, was born in Mexico.

The Twitterverse had some fun with the mistake.
