Remember when Obama indicated he believed no deal was better than a bad deal? Well it appears he was willing to take any deal.
Reports have been surfacing since the negotiations ended in a tentative deal Thursday that Team Obama, led by secretary of state John Kerry, continuously backed down from their demands.
According to a report by the Wall Street Journal U.S. diplomats initially wanted Iran to dismantle much of its current nuclear infrastructure when talks began in 2013, only to be rebuffed with an unequivocal “no” from the Iranians.
One Iranian diplomat compared to the country’s nuclear program to the United States landing an astronaut on the moon in the late 1960s, the Journal reported.
After that the U.S. team resigned itself to only lengthening the “breakout time” it would take for Iran to get it’s inevitable nuclear weapon.
So weak is the deal that on Friday France’s top diplomat said his country almost didn’t agree to the terms and wanted to hold out for something tougher.
Think about that.
The word’s most notable appeasers wanted to hold out for something tougher.
If that doesn’t highlight how weak this deal really is nothing will.
