‘Meet the Press’ melee: Debate over Hillary’s emails descends into chaos; ‘Time out!’

NBC host Chuck Todd lost all control of a panel during a “Meet the Press” roundtable discussion over the ongoing controversy over Hillary Clinton‘s private email server.

Todd began the segment by noting that Clinton “wiped the server clean,” acting as if that was a perfectly reasonable action, federal law notwithstanding.

“Politically, it makes perfect sense,” he said. “Why have something there that you might have to turn over to Congress? I sort of understand the tactic, but doesn’t it feed this idea that they were hiding something?”

Clinton representative Neera Tanden dismissed the controversy as being tied to Benghazi, saying “this part of the scandal machine” is because the proverbial “they” failed to find emails implicating the former secretary of state in wrongdoing.

Gee, any wonder why “they” didn’t find any such emails?

“The emails were under subpoena at the time she destroyed them!” MSNBC host Joe Scarborough said. “And saying it makes perfect sense means Pat Buchanan’s still saying it makes perfect sense that Nixon should have burned the tapes.”

server CLEAN, permanently deleted all emails

The panelist began talking over one another after Tanden suggested that Clinton turned her emails over, with Todd interjecting himself to keep the discussion on track.

After giving the Clinton aide the last word, Todd tried to break but Scarborough and Tanden continued to go at it. Try as he might, the host could not get them to relent or heed his call for a break.

His frustration and embarrassment was palpable.

And vastly entertaining.
