Hot mic puts one NCAA player on the hot seat: What did he say?

A hot microphone got a college basketball player red in the face Wednesday when he blurted out his opinion of just how attractive one of the women sportswriters in front of him really is.

Debra Bollman: Looking good!

Fortunately for all concerned, it was a compliment.

“God, she’s beautiful,” 20-year-old Wisconsin Badgers forward Nigel Hayes whispered to a teammate at the speakers’ table, apparently not realizing the microphone in front of him was picking up every word.

“Did you hear that?” he asked the crowd, suddenly realizing the situation.

‘Alright we’ll open it up to questions!’ the announcer broke in quickly.

But the audience did hear it,  including Debra Bollman, a stenographer for ASAP Sports and the object of Hayes’ suddenly public affection.

The 43-year-old took the compliment like a lady, though her daughter Sophia appeared to show a good-natured jealous streak.

Relax, Sophia. When you’re 43, you’ll be grateful.
