Juan Williams goes off on Snoop Dogg blaming Ronald Reagan for gang violence

Juan Williams didn’t take too kindly to Snoop Dogg blaming Ronald Reagan for LA’s gang problems in the 1980s.

In a scathing rant Monday, “The Five” co-host blasted the Doggfather for his recent remarks at the South by Southwest Music Festival.

Williams quoted Snoop Dogg in a sarcastic tone.

Toward the latter part of the ‘70s everything was beautiful…the government would provide for us… Then when Reaganomics kicked in, certain things were taken away, after-school programs and things of that nature. Guns and drugs were shipped into the neighborhood. So it was a shift of having fun and playing football to selling drugs and shooting at each other.

“Now you talk about a lack of responsibility?  Holy smokes!” Williams said.

“Were white people coming and and destroying black neighborhoods?

“Or was he saying that black people were destroying black neighborhoods, and now he’s blaming Ronald Reagan?”

Ronald Reagan was governor of California from 1967 to 1975.  Williams said, “I didn’t see all that happening in black neighborhoods during the ’70s.”

Williams accused Snoop of making pornographic movies as “totally legitimate,” and making himself an icon of hip-hop to black and white people.

“To me, this is another guy who has exploited black people, and has used people like Ronald Reagan” because of his own refusal to take responsibility, Williams said.
