State Dept. condolences to Iran spark intense rage: ‘you gotta be out of your freakin’ mind!’

The State Department tweeted its condolences to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani yesterday on the death of his mother.

The U.S. hasn’t had diplomatic relations with Iran in 36 years.  State’s love-fest toward Rouhani was so over the top, it prompted one AP reporter to ask, “Are you sending flowers, as well?

What were they thinking?

This is the same State Department, under Secretary of State John Kerry, that waited days before tweeting a weak congratulations to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his election victory.

The twitterverse minced no words: “you gotta be out of your freakin’ mind!”

This tweet may most succinctly represent most Americans’ response to the State Department’s folly:
