Lib headlines scream, ‘Ted Cruz scares tiny children’: Did he really tell 3-year-old girl ‘your world is on fire’?

Liberal media just embarrassed themselves again by painting Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, as the boogeyman to poor, frightened 3-year-olds.

During a speech Sunday in New Hampshire, Cruz reminded the crowd that the Obama/Clinton foreign policy strategy of leading from behind has left the whole world on fire.

“The world’s on fire,” he repeated.

A tiny voice unexpectedly echoed Cruz. The  3-year-old girl was understandably confused and blurted out the question, “The world’s on fire?”

Cruz, having young daughters of his own, answered carefully, “The world is on fire, yes, your world is on fire! But you know what? Your mommy’s here and everyone’s here to make sure that the world you grow up in is even better.”

Ignorant headlines soon followed, Fox News Insider reported:

Salon declared, “‘Your world is on fire!’ Ted Cruz wants this terrified little girl to know the end is nigh.” New York Magazine posted an article titled, “Ted Cruz’s New Campaign Strategy: Scare Tiny Children.” Mediaite’s headline read, “Ted Cruz Scares Little Girl: ‘Your World Is on Fire.’”

The little girl’s mother was quick to set the record straight. Fox News Insider reported:

Michelle Trant said she explained to her daughter that Cruz is like a fireman who is going to put out the fire, and her daughter was happy with that explanation. The 3-year-old then went back to playing a game on her mom’s phone and asked when she could get a cookie.

Trant said on “The Kuhner Report” that she met Cruz afterward. She said he was incredible and friendly, and that he gave her daughter a high-five.

“She was actually calling him Uncle Cruz for the rest of the day,” Trant said.

The critics should have considered the nature of the crowd before jumping to conclusions. If it were a liberal audience, Cruz would have needed to break out his Dr. Seuss, but these were mature-thinking adult conservatives, and one little lady who was paying very close attention.

As an aside, libs might want to check out the difference between a campaign speech and an adult who really wants to scare children.

Here’s a hint from one of the most talked-about scenes from AMC’s hot show “The Walking Dead.”
